Eczema dan steroid

Hai uols!

Kembali bersiaran katanya. Okay kali ni nak membebel pasal eczema. Nuh was diagnosed with eczema when he was 8 months old. Masa tu ingat rash biasa je la kan tapi makin lama makin teruk. Sampai berdarah-darah. Masa tu mama kan kurang cerdik sikit. Pergi klinik, doctor bagi ubat sapu. Gigihlah sapu. Mula-mula memang wow sangat. Cepat sangat baik. Tapiiii.. ku sangka panas hingga ke petang gitu. Lepas sapu steroid, eczema makin merebak ye tuan tuan dan puan puan.

Krim steroid based yang Nuh dah guna

Menyesal sangat-sangat lepas dah guna tu. Sebab kulit dah dapat Topical Steroid Addiction dan ended up with Topical Steroid Withdrawal.

"Topical Steroid Withdrawal or Red Skin Syndrome may be a relatively rare and under recognized condition, but the significant impact on people suffering from this condition is all too real. There is a range of clinical presentations and symptoms. In general, people with TSW have red, itchy, dry and burning skin that affect small areas to nearly the whole body. Depending on the stage and time course of TSW or RSS, some patients will have significant itch and burning sensations that compel them to scratch almost incessantly for relief."

So, mommies, kalau anak eczema, please please please kalau boleh jangan opt for steroid cream. Kesan long term nya sangat dasyat. Memang nampak magic mula-mula. Lepas tu hazabbbbb...

 Post steroid. Poor baby!

P/s: Sekarang dah eczema free. Alhamdulillah.
